About the St. Lawrence-Rideau
Immigration Partnership
In 2010, informal discussions about the importance of immigration to Leeds and Grenville were held by various organizations. These discussions aimed to ensure coordinated efforts to identify gaps in the regional response to newcomer settlement needs. The result was the creation of an informal partnership network, with leadership from the City of Brockville and the United Way of Leeds & Grenville. The Partnership network has since evolved into the St. Lawrence-Rideau Immigration Partnership. The Immigration Partnership is administered by the City of Brockville and funded by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
Since the formalization of the Partnership, member organizations have developed locally-driven strategies that attract, welcome and retain newcomers to Leeds & Grenville communities. The Immigration Partnership is guided by input from a Council that meets quarterly. As of June 2017, the Council is comprised of twenty one different organizations and businesses from across Leeds & Grenville.
